The Fourth Movement

Listen to these words, my friend
Your story has a brilliant end
Observing not, your eyes can see
Gaping ears, but deaf you be

Notwithstanding, witness now
The Lord has given me this vow:
"If they hearken I will make
Them perfect for my servant's sake

"While snared and captive they have been
The ensign says 'Restore' to them
Springing forth the words declared
The road to Heaven is repaired"

Sing the song! From city streets
From wilds sublime and mountains sweet!
Declare His praise from rocks and isles
Into the sea for miles and miles!

So hear, you deaf; and look, you blind
I show the last hope you will find
Once refrained, our Maestro's cry
Will soon make herbs and rivers dry

The Law

Listen, heavens, while I speak; hear, earth, the words that I shall say! May my teaching fall like the rain, may my word drop down like the dew, like showers on the grass, like light rain on the turf!

For I have proclaimed the name of The Lord. Oh, tell the greatness of our God! He is the Rock, his work is perfect, for all his ways are equitable. A trustworthy God who does no wrong, he is the Honest, the Upright One!

Think back on the days of old, think over the years, down the ages. Question your Father, let him explain to you, your elders, and let them tell you!

When the Most High gave the nations each their heritage, when he partitioned out the human race, he assigned the boundaries of nations according to the number of the children of God, but The Lord's portion was His people, Jacob was to be the measure of his inheritance.

In the desert he finds him, in the howling expanses of the wastelands. He protects him, rears him, guards him as the pupil of his eye. Like an eagle watching its nest, hovering over its young, he spreads out his wings to hold him, he supports him on his pinions. The Lord alone is his guide; no alien god for him!

He gives him the heights of the land to ride, he feeds him on the yield of the mountains, he gives him honey from the rock to taste, and oil from the flinty crag; curds from the cattle, milk from the flock, and the richness of the pasture, rams of Bashan's breed, and goats, the richness of the wheat kernel; the fermented blood of the grape for drink.

Ephraim has eaten to his heart's content, grown fat, has now lashed out. (You have grown fat, gross, bloated.) He has disowned the God who made him, and dishonoured the Rock, his salvation, whose jealousy they aroused with foreigners -- with things detestable they angered him.

'I shall soon hide my face from them,' The Lord says, 'and see what will become of them. For they are a deceitful brood, children with no loyalty in them. They have roused me to jealousy with a non-god, they have exasperated me with their idols. But their rock is not like our Rock; our enemies cannot pray for us! (But we will pray for them.)

But he, is he not safe with me, sealed inside my treasury?

'Where are their gods then?' he will ask, 'the rock where they sought refuge, who ate the fat of their sacrifices and drank the wine of their libations?' Let these arise and help you, let these be the shelter above you! The sparks which you have kindled will fail.

'See now that I, I AM he, and there is no other god like unto me. It is I who deal death and life; when I have struck, it is I who heal.'

Heavens, rejoice with him, let all the children of God pay him homage! Nations, rejoice with his people, let God's envoys tell of his power!

Moses came with Joshua son of Nun and recited all the words of this song in the people's hearing. When Moses had finished reciting these words to all Israel, he said to them, 'Take all these words to heart; I intend them today to be a witness to you. You must teach your children to keep and observe all the words of this Law. You must not think of this as empty words, for the Law is your life, and by its means you will live long in the country which captive Israel will cross the mountains to possess.

The Ascent - Option 2

There are none like unto thee oh Lord
None
Like unto thee

I am not striving to be dear Lord
Not
Striving to be

Give a token of good and right
That the word when spoken will prove thy might

But there are none like unto thee oh Lord
None like unto thee

-----

I call out in thy Name, oh Lord
Call
Out in thy name

Do not put them to shame, dear Lord
Not
Put them to shame

Finding the lost is my sole desire
Fill thy host with the Father's fire

I call Him in thy Name, oh Lord

-----

I hand over my life, oh Lord
Over my life

Through pain, peril and strife, dear Lord
Pain
Peril and strife

With all my heart I give thee praise
Whether or not my bones You raise

Hand over my life

-----------------------

Thus saith the Lord: because of the thing which ye have desired of me, ye shall have fulness of joy; and ye shall sit down in the kingdom of my Father to go no more out, but to dwell with God eternally in the heavens. And he that receiveth my Father receiveth my Father’s kingdom; therefore all that my Father hath shall be given unto him. And this is according to the oath and covenant which belongeth to the priesthood. Yea, your joy shall be full, even as the Father hath given me fulness of joy; and ye shall be even as I am, and I am even as the Father; and the Father and I are one. Behold we shall be one with thee.

If the Gentiles shall repent and come unto me, it shall be well with them; For behold, they do not eat up the vineyard and the spoil of the poor in their houses. And for this cause shall they eat the fruit of their doings and receive the stay and the staff, the whole staff of bread, and the whole stay of water. And they shall come up out of captivity forever.

The Ascent - Option 1

Climb the ladder
Higher level
New estate
It's kav lakav

Stack the line and
Add a precept
By my merits
Sav lasav

Round the mill then
Stepping higher
Once again
I cycle through

Nothing less than
What He did
Precisely now I
Strive to do

The Most True Book

I show you the words that I want you to see
I AM that I AM and THEY BE that THEY BE
But if you decode all the music I croon
You'll find that my melody's now out of tune

The Everlasting Hills

A Sign is HERE

The Lord sends rain without a stay
  In the hills above us, in the hills;
And presently the floods break way
Whose strength is in the hills.
The trees they suck from every cloud,
The valley brooks they roar aloud--
Bank-high for the lowlands, lowlands,
  Lowlands under the hills!

The eye shall look, the ear shall hark
To the hills, the doings in the hills!
And rivers joining in the dark
  With tokens from the hills.
Now what is weak will surely go,
And what is strong must prove it so--
Stand Fast in the lowlands, lowlands,
  Lowlands under the hills!

The floods they shall not be afraid--
Nor the hills above 'em, nor the hills--
Of any fence which man has made
  Betwixt him and the hills.
The waters shall not reckon twice
For any work of man's device,
But bid it down to the lowlands, lowlands,
     Lowlands under the hills!

GOLD floods shall sweep corruption clean--
By the hills, the blessing of the hills--
That more the meadows may be green
  New-mended from the hills.
The crops and cattle shall increase,
Nor little children shall not cease.
Go--plough the lowlands, lowlands,
  Lowlands under the hills!

The Nations

I claim the nations as my native blood
And often times a drunkard I have been
Though wild fruit is blooming from my bud
A saving kind of nectar lies within

To sons of Jacob: lend your studied ears
Your analyzing ways and layered codes
Have yielded fruitful harvests o'er the years
And led you on your grand adventurous roads

If God bestows His sacramental grace
If Heaven sends its glory from above
Once brothers, yet again we shall embrace
And kiss your necks in reconciled love

But now you should wipe clean your studied slate
And put aside ascending ordered stairs
A new peculiar path we will relate
To answer all your supplicated prayers

The Angels seek a fellowship with Gods
And hope to find a scintillating rest
They must tear down their erudite façades
Then jettison their idol called “The Test”

The stakes they laid do hinder their advance
(Traditions of their fathers though they be)
But God in mercy grants again the chance
To make a stronger choice and then be free

Since Wisdom has revealed her storied scars
Through follies not a few and curséd days
Then family, let us treat among the Stars!
(If luscious fruit can come from gentile ways)

The Prodigal returns now for the feast
And with your Father beckons at the door
Come in the gate which opens from the East
And don the blazing Fam'ly coat once more!
