The Indigo Water

I've been tryin' to tell you somethin' 'bout your life
Maybe give us insight between black and white
But the best thing They've ever done for me
Is to help me take my life less seriously
It's a fun life after all, yeah

Well darkness has a hunger that's insatiable
And lightness has a call that's hard to hear
We wrap our fear around us like a blanket
Let's sail our ships of safety 'til we sink it
We're crawling on his shores

And I went to the Fathers, I went to the mountains
I looked at the children, I drank from the fountains
There's a new poetic answer to these questions
Straightening the crooked line
And the more we seek the Source for some definitive
The closer we are to find
The closer we are to find
The closer we are to find, yeah

And I went to hear the preacher of theology
With a poster of Isaiah and an astronomy degree
He never did go swimming when he dipped into the sea
His face grew red at villains while smiling right at me

Spent forty years prostrate to that "higher mind"
Tore my paper, now I'm free

I called to the Father, I went to the mountains
I cried for the children, I drank from the fountains
There's a new symphonic answer to these questions
Straightening the crooked line
And the more we seek the Source for some definitive
The closer we are to find
The closer we are to find
The closer we are to find, yeah

Let's call to the Fathers, let's build on the mountains
Just think of the children, and drink from the fountains

"Yeah, we got a new Bible, we go through the work out
We need no more Bible, there's nothing to sing out"

But there's a new melodic answer to these questions
Straightening the crooked line
And the more we seek the Source for some definitive
The closer we are to find
The closer we are to find
The closer we are to find, yeah
