The Encounter

a total stranger one black day
knocked the living hell out of me

who found forgiveness hard because
my (as it happened) self he was

an enemy came in my view

i asked, "what shall i do to you"

"forgive" she said, "ourself and then

believe in Love restored again"

once upon a glorious time
an adversary crossed my line---

with probing eyes he canvassed me:
"you gave no fight, so go, you're free"
